About Grenadilla Blackwood
Grenadilla is an African blackwood used to make high performance woodwind instruments such as oboes and clarinets. Its natural properties include a smooth and dark surface and resistance to moisture that render the wood resilient to the condensation produced during the music-making process. From a tree in the southeastern African grasslands to the performance halls all over the world, grenadilla is an unassuming wood whose purpose culminates in creating the ultimate beauty in this world. We believe that there is a meaningful parallel between grenadilla and how we live our life’s purpose: strength, resilience, and grace that ultimately create beautiful music, the way you want to write your life’s narrative.

After serving as Chief Investment Officer for a large RIA, Anna Rathbun envisioned a new path for wealth management – one that transcends traditional norms and truly connects with clients on a human level. Her journey spans the world of institutional finance and the expressive artistry of classical music.
Anna, an immigrant from South Korea who came to the U.S. at age nine, intimately understands the journey of transformation. She identifies deeply with the Grenadilla wood itself: seemingly unassuming yet possessing inherent quality to create something extraordinary. This personal experience fuels her passion to empower clients to create their own beauty through their lives, viewing money not as an end, but as a powerful tool.
Recognizing the male-dominated nature of the financial industry, Anna is committed to bringing a crucial female voice, emotional intelligence (EQ), and deep understanding to wealth management. Her expertise spans global economy and markets, interest rate movements, economic and monetary policy, and the intricacies of AI. She’s regularly featured in the media, both broadcast and print, and holds a CFA and CAIA.
